Large wind tunnel
Atmospheric Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel
This wind tunnel is used for measuring wind speed, wind pressure, and pollutant dispersion around buildings
by exposing scaled buildings and other structure models to wind that simulates the atmospheric boundary
layer flow over the built environment.
It has a large measurement section of 1.8 m (width) × 1.8 m (height) × 13.0 m (length), making it one of the
largest wind tunnels for architectural purposes in Japan. This wide cross-section enables more accurate and
detailed measurements. The maximum wind speed is approximately 23 m/s.
